The National Employment Agency is the central body of the public service, within the Ministry of Economy and Trade, with the status of juridical person, authorized according to the Law nr.102-XV from 13 March 2003 regarding the employment and the social protection of the job-seekers, to promote the policies, the strategies and the state programs in the field of the development of the labour market, the social protection of the job-seekers, the prevention of the unemployment and the struggle with its social effects.
At the territorial level the National Employment Agency has in subordination 35 employment agencies, including: 32 district agencies, 2 municipal agencies ( Balti and Chisinau), 1 agency in UTA Gagauzia.
