For more than 10 years, more than 600.000 Moldovans left the country to look for a better future abroad, leaving their families in Moldova. Many of them left the country illegally and continue to be such till present in the European Union countries. This process led to serious problems: breaking the family apart, impossibility to see your family, mistrust of the employer from EU, etc The EU funded project “Strengthening Moldova’s capacity to manage labour and return migration” aims to facilitate legal mobility between European Union and Moldova. This objective divides into 2 sub-objectives: 1. Offering all the necessary information and encourage persons who plan migrating to use legal channels of migration To avoid and diminish the number of cases of illegal migration and thus to facilitate the control of the flux of migration the EU project launches an information campaign on living and working legally in EU encouraging people to use legal channels when migrating. Having a legal way of working and living will allow you to benefit from the following advantages in the destination country of the EU: - You can visit your family anytime you want Working/living permit To live and work legally in the European Union, a person from a third-country must have a working/living permit of the country of destination. The working/living permit is a document issued by local public authorities of the destination country, which allows the person to work and live legally in the European Union space. To obtain a working/living permit it is necessary to have the following documents: International passport available for more than 6 months Nevertheless, the local public authorities could ask for additional documents if necessary.
